Mobile Blogging is getting so famous these days that if you pick a group of tech bloggers and ask them about their favorite niche to write, I am sure more than 70% of bloggers’ answer would be reviewing mobiles. Since last three months I have been noticing a sudden rise in the ‘Mobile’ based blogs and sites. Well, being honest I didn’t get the reason yet of reviewing mobiles and all, maybe it’s keywords are too profitable for them or perhaps the reason would be the launch new iPhone 4 or Motorola Droid, which developed a craze in their minds.I may be not clear with the reason of reviewing mobiles or how it’s benefiting bloggers, but I am clear with one thing for sure that Mobile is being something to bloggers that a Personal Computer couldn’t be ever.

Being a mobile user you would know the life time of a mobile. A mobile hardly works OK for five-six months and maximum to maximum a year or so. I guess after reviewing a mobile or using it for some time I don’t think that bloggers would be left anything to do with it. Am I not right? If I am, then here’s a solution for all bloggers who buy the mobiles just to review and then after that those mobile remain of no use – Sell My Mobile.

About

Sell My Mobile is one of the UK’s number 1 mobile phones recycling price comparison portal with more phone buyers than any one else so, the sellers are guaranteed to always get most money for their mobile. Doesn’t matter the condition of mobile.

Screenshot

Sell My Mobile

How Does it Works?

Search for the mobile you want to sell.

Once you get the search results, choose the deal which suits you the best.

Post your Phone, which you want to sell for free to the BUYER and..

Get money for your old phone!

I think it’s one of the best solutions for all bloggers, who buy mobiles just to review and then they leave them over making them of no use. They can make money for old phones by selling the phones which are of no use to them or which they buy just to review and could invest the money in their blogs.

Social networks are a great way to promote a blog as it helps in increasing traffic to your blog. Unless your blog is purely personal in nature and only meant to be shared with family and close friends, chances you want to bring in more readers. Nearly all bloggers also want to earn something from there blogs. At least to cover the costs domain renewals and hosting services, but that requires a large traffic.

After SEO, Social Networking is only and the best way to popularize a blog and earn at least some money. Being a Social Media guy and a professional writer, the main question, which is asked by almost every fellow blogger is How Do I make my blogs and projects popular? My answer is always being the same, but I wanted to share with you all so writing this post. Best way is to do social bookmarking, also Explain Social Bookmarking to your users. Not everyone
who crosses your blog will be familiar to the benefits of social bookmarking. So how to promote your blog via social networking or social bookmaking?

Well, I won’t write too much like those real *** bloggers write about, “Do this, Do that” seriously all those tips are useless and time consuming . Just remember to socialize and popularize a blog you just need to create a network of good fellow bloggers and bookmark or share the
posts. Here is a list of top bookmarking sites:

StumbleUpon Promotion: StumbleUpon is great source of incoming traffic.

BlogCatalog Promotion: BlogCatalog, a network for bloggers, has several ways to promote your blog and articles.

Twitter Promotion: Twitter is probably the simplest network to use to promote your blog. Simply post an eye-catching, 140 character or less tweet with a link to your new article.

Facebook Promotion: Facebook offers a number of ways to promote your blog site and posts. For starters, you can create a Facebook Page for yourself or your blog.

Digg Promotion: Digg allows members to share sites via voting, or Digging, them. The best method of sharing links via this site is not to do self-submissions, but to add a Digg submission button or badge to each article and let your readers submit your story.

Tip: Remember just share a post once, or ask some of your friends to share the post as if you’ll keep on sharing posts again and again, it would make a bad impression on your readers as well as your followers too. They may think that you are spamming.

Tips by Patsy, who is working for Go-gulf.com, a web design Kuwait company that provides web design solution in Qatar, Sharjah and Middle East.

Making money from sites and blogs is so easy that one can easily make a good living from it, but for a noob (new blogger) it could be a never ending nightmare which may finally lead him in loosing interest in blogging and I’m sure he won’t take blogging seriously then. Al though he will learn then only that taking it seriously would never help as ankit said in one of his guest posts too on Chaaps.

New bloggers find it too hard to earn from blogs as they are not experienced, but don’t worry to get the best one doesn’t need experience just have to hard work in a smarter way. In second last post one of our Guest author answered the question – Can you earn Money Blogging? Today I’m going to tell you that how can one be a good blogger so he can make a good amount of revenue in the right way.

So How Can One be a Good Blogger?

To make a good blogger one doesn’t need any experience or something as I said in above. Just have to make some strategies to be good and earn well. To make good strategies you need good ideas and to get good ideas you have to mind map himself. I hope you are not feeling sleepy while reading this as it’s going to help only who are with fresh mind. Here are the strategies that may help you.

Write your best: Nothing is more important than content’s quality and the design. If your content would be good, then it’s of course that people on similar niche (topic) would like to read it. If you write about tutorials of something of which you offer services too, then there would be high chance of getting clients.

Make a good reader base: Before starting advertising or doing paid reviews, you should first make a good reader base as number of people will visit your blog as much page impressions will be there, which will help you to generate a good revenue without doing extra work.

Commenting: No tension on which niche you are writing or sharing content just collect some similar niche and deliberately comment as much as you can, but must be related to the topic and discussion and see the result.

Do all this for six months: YEAH! Don’t even touch your blog once you have designed it. Let it be as it is and do what I mentioned above. I’m suggestion you this because it would help you a lot and make it easier to get approved for Google Adsense, which is considered as a backbone of money for mainly all blogs, though you can give a try to Adbrite too for the last two three-months, but let me tell you that Adbrite is that network if it would work for you, then pay a good amount, but if it won’t you would not get even a single penny.

Now comes the social media thing: Now it’s time to share with all that what you did. Sign up for popular sites like Digg, Twitter, Facebook and start sharing! Remember sharing is caring, but spamming is abusing! So share only once at a time what you like.

Guest Posting: Yes! Just like social media guest posting is too like a sea of link backs and money. One can easily make money by writing on other sites. I think most of the all blogs are revenue sharing and gives a link back too, to the blog. Some blogs even pay per post. Even Passionate Bloggers also pay you 2$ per post that you write with a link back so, if you are interested to write for us most welcome!

Designing: Be clam and cool while choosing a design for your blogs. There is a hell a lot of themes available on the Web to choose with, but choose it wisely and according to your niche.

Tweaking the theme: None of the theme suit our exact requirements. So tweak it! Remember while tweaking try to make it SEO and Ads friendly (you can get an idea of what to tweak from our blog – Extreme Trix, which was recently re-designed).

Advertise!: Finally! once you are over with all that your blog is ready to show advertisements. There are several ad networks available to go with, but try to get approved for Adsense though it may take some time to get approved for it, but believe me it pays a lot better than any other ad network. If you don’t get approved for it, don’t worry there are some alternatives too, but as I told you they all depends on the site you own. So luck! Some alternatives are:

Adbrite

WidgetBucks

Ads Pilot

You can also give a try to in-text ads like Infolinks and kontera.

Time to check: Time to check whether you are doing everything in the right way for not if yes, then move to next step and if not once again check what’s wrong in your blog.

Affiliate: Once everything goes right, now it’s time to get some good amount of money without doing any hard work – Affiliate Marketing. You can give a try to HostGator affiliates, theme affiliates. All depends on the niche you choose.

Done!: Finally everything is done!

Congrats! Now you are one of the good bloggers who can make a living from it!

Keeping your blog up, running, and active when you’re short on time can be a chore. Not all of us have a lot of time to devote to running and organizing our blog, so sometimes time is of the essence. If that’s the dilemma you’re facing, here are a few tips that could help you stay effective when you’re blogging but are short on time.

1. Social Networking

For many, one of the most difficult aspects of blogging, and often most time consuming as well, is the promotional side of being a blogger. Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and a host of other social networking sites can help you in promoting your blog while also saving you time.

Also read: When does Social Media strategy fails?

2. You Don’t Have to Design Your Own Theme

If you aren’t really proficient at HTML or CSS, or just don’t have the time to deal with such matters, then you’ll be happy to know that there are lots of themes available for WordPress and Blogger blogs. Some themes are free and others are paid, but either way you’ll save yourself the hassle of actually designing your own theme.

3. Write What You Know

Yep, it’s the old adage, “write what you know.” Drawing from your knowledge and experience within an industry or niche can save time on research and writing for your blog.

4. Brief Isn’t Always Bad

You may not always have time to write an in-depth post, and that’s okay. Sometimes just doing a brief update or short comment on something in the news, or a post to let your readers know that you’re out there and paying attention may suffice. Some of the easiest and often most entertaining posts can be as simple as a funny image or interesting video you’ve found on YouTube.

5. Pool Your Resources

If you’re in a time crunch, you might be able to use articles or posts from article directories or other blogs who publish under the Creative Commons license. While this might not be a perfect scenario, it can help to keep your blog looking active. You may also be able to rehash or update old ideas or previous posts so that you don’t have to come up with a completely new post idea.

6. Link to Other Content

Even if you don’t own the rights to certain material you’ve posted on other sites, you still may be able to use that work by writing a brief summary and then linking to it as part of a link roundup. This can also be a great way to network with or drive traffic to work you’ve done for other sites.

7. Invite Others to Contribute

If you really just don’t have much time to spend on your blog, you might want to consider inviting others to contribute guest posts. This can be a great time saver for you and is a means to put some other opinions and knowledge to work on your site.

8. Outsource Some of Your Work

Getting others to contribute to your blog is often easier said than done, especially with newer or less popular blogs. If this is the case, you might want to consider outsourcing some of the work. There are plenty of sites out there where you may purchase reasonably priced content for your blog’s niche.

9. Let Your Site Do The Work

While you don’t want to overload your blog with gadgets, polls, surveys, and contests, sometimes they can work for you while you’re away. Utilizing such content can provide something of interest to your visitors that they can interact with other than just reading posts.

10. Advertising Issues

Looking for, dealing with, and handling advertisers and their issues can be time consuming. If this type of work really isn’t your thing or you don’t want to spend the time on it, consider letting someone else do the work for you. Programs like Google’s AdSense do the dirty work for you and let you reap the rewards. While over the long term this might not be the best strategy for maximizing advertising revenue, it can certainly save you time and allow you to focus on building and bettering your blog.

Also read: Tips to monetize a blog.

In Conclusion

It’s important to remember that it isn’t always about the amount of time you spend on your blog but how you make the most efficient use of the time you do have. Just because you sit in front of the computer for hours, staring at your blog, doesn’t mean you’re making it better. Sometimes the best work is quick, efficient work!

Hundred of blogs are created and being added to blogosphere every day. And, every blogger dream of earning a lot of money blogging. But in reality most of the bloggers can’t even earn a decent amount which can compensate the efforts and hard work that they put into blogging. If you ask that is it possible to earn money blogging? The answer is – YES. If you blog consistently for few months, then you will definitely earn some money blogging. But if you ask that can I generate a full-time earning from blogging? The answer would be still Yes. But it is very less likely to happen. The statistics show that the majority of bloggers earn less that $10 per month which means that the majority of bloggers can’t even earn a part-time income from blogging.

Then should you quit blogging and start doing something else? Whether spending so much time blogging is worth it? Is it next to impossible to generate a full-time living blogging? No. Why? Well here are the few reasons that why you should not quit blogging even if you can’t earn anything from it now.

Building a successful blog takes time – It takes years to build successful blogs. Building a large archive of posts, a loyal readership base, domain authority in the eyes of search engines won’t happen overnight. So as a bloggers you should have a long-term view. Once you have built a loyal readership base it won’t take a lot of hard work in monetizing it.

Blogs are passive source of Income – Blogs are a partial passive source of income. Although, you have to update your blog at regular intervals but it doesn’t means that your blog won’t earn any money on the day you don’t update it. High quality posts of the blog keep on earning for years and once you’ve a sufficient number of such posts you can earn a passive income without putting lot of efforts.

Advertising is not the only way to earn – Well, Most of the bloggers can only think about advertising and affiliate marketing when it comes to monetizing their blogs. What they don’t realize is there are a lot of other ways too that can be used to earn a decent amount from their blogs. The most common way is to write an E-book. Write an E-book on topics related to your niche and promote it amongst your readers. One of the biggest examples is the ProBlogger E-book which earned $72,000 for him. Besides E-book, you can easily find a lot of freelance writing/marketing assignments from the companies that have the same target audience as of your blog.

No two blogs are Equal - Every now and again, bloggers keep on comparing their traffic and earning stats with other blogs. But they forgot to realize that no two blogs are equal. A blog, which is in finance niche is not equal to the blog in shopping niche even if they have same level of traffic. And, even if two blogs are in same niche, they won’t earn same despite of the same traffic levels because of the difference in writing style, visual appearance and content structure.

Blogging is not an easy Job and it becomes very difficult for a blogger to stand out from the crowd when millions of pages of content is being added to blogosphere every day. So keep trying and enjoy your blogging.

The first page of your website which your visitor sees after clicking a PPC ad, link in your email or a search engine result is known as the landing page. Landing page is not always the homepage of your website it could be any page where you are directing most of your traffic with the aim of converting your visitors in to customers.

Why Landing pages are Important?

The success of your online marketing campaign to a large extent depends on the success and failure of your landing page. The more effective your landing pages are, more will be the conversion rate and more successful would be your marketing campaigns.

It doesn’t matter what methods you are using to get traffic – organic search engine traffic, PPC, email marketing or anything else, if your landing page can’t convince the visitor to take the desired action and convert them to customers then you are just wasting your money.

Here are some tips which will help you to create killer landing pages for your campaigns.

Make them relevant – Your landing pages should be relevant to the advertisements you are using to attract traffic. The traffic you get from PPC campaigns and other paid sources is highly relevant and is searching for specific products. Directing such kind of traffic to non relevant landing pages will confuse them and may compel them to turn away. If you are using multiple ads then create customized landing pages for each ad which focus on one offer only.

Proper positioning of call to action – Keep your call to action link above the fold so that it is easily visible to your visitors. Your call to action button should be relatively big as compared to other elements of your landing page. Use persuasive words on call to action button that can convince your users to take the action.

Focus on Customer Problems – Content of your landing page should focus on your customer problems. It should explain that how your product will solve their problems and will make their lives easier. Don’t fill entire landing pages with company history and your experience because customers are not interested in it. They are searching for solutions of their problems and if they can’t find it on your landing pages they will just turn away.

Eliminate distractions – Minimize the distractions on your landing pages. Don’t fill it with a lot of information or multiple offers that can confuse your visitors. Remove the links from your landing to other parts of your website which can distract your user mind. Control the content which your visitors can see and show them the things which you want them to see. Provide them with a suitable environment where they can take the decision which you want them to take.

Easy to Use – Keep your landing pages simple and user friendly. Avoid usage of flash, iframes, pop-ups, heavy images and other obtrusive elements which can increase its loading time. Make sure that your landing pages works well in all popular browsers in default settings and don’t require any custom software to work properly. Try to provide them with the simplest path for completing the desired action. If you want your users to complete a form then try to keep it as short as possible. Auto-populate fields wherever possible. If you are trying to sell a product then provide multiple ways of payment to pay so that they can use any method according to their convenience.

Also read: What your business website says about your business?

Test, Modify and Test Again – Create multiple versions of same landing page and run them simultaneously to find out which page converts better and why. There is always a scope of improvement and sometimes very small changes can create big differences. So keep analyzing the results, make changes and then analyze the new results again.

The impact of social media on the behavior of your customers is increasing every day and nobody can deny it. According to stats, more than 90% of online consumers go to social media websites before buying a product and more than 50% of them take decisions on the basis of information they get from these social media websites, hence no business owner irrespective of the size, type or location of their business can afford to ignore the social media websites in their marketing strategy especially when nine out of your ten customers go to these websites before coming to you.

Although many businesses have already joined and created accounts on popular social networking websites, but still most of them are not able to leverage any kind of benefit from these sites, here we’ll discuss few of the reasons about why your social media strategy failed and what you should do to avoid such mistakes.

Using social media for broadcasting – Time and again, we see that most of the companies use their social networking accounts only for making new announcements related to their products and never participate in any kind of conversations. Social networking websites are created for doing conversations and your overall social media strategy fails at the moment when you stop participating in conversations with your target audience and start using your accounts as a medium to broadcast news related to your company.

Lacks of consistency – Many businesses join social networking websites with great expectations, but they stop updating your accounts when they can’t see quick results in form of new clients and increase revenues. Developing relationships on social media websites is a slow process. So have patience and don’t leave your social networking accounts unattended for months because nothing hurts your credibility more than when a user found your account which was not updated from a long time.

Having Nothing Valuable to Say – Your target audience expects you to be an expert in your niche when you are trying to sell something to them. Mostly, business owners don’t update their accounts for days because they can’t find anything that can be shared with their target audience. It gives bad signals to your target audience. So, if you want to establish yourself as an expert amongst them, make sure that you have something valuable to share with them.

When you stop behaving like a person – It is easier to develop a relationship with a human being as compared to building relationship with a company. Your potential customers will always prefer to buy from a friend instead of buying anything from a logo or a company. Make your social networking accounts as human as possible. Don’t limit yourself to product announcements or to conversations related to your products. Take a leap and start participating in conversations which are of interest to your potential buyer. It could be anything from sports to politics, movies to food. And Yes, Don’t forget to enjoy.

So there are the four mistakes which according to us can kill your overall social media campaigns, but we now want to know what more mistakes you think one should avoid on social networking sites. Please share your opinions in the comments below.

From a long time I was planning to write a detailed post on all new version of WordPress — The WordPress 3.0, in the multi user and single user both versions of WP have been merged. The new look is simply remarkable. I appreciate the hard work of WordPress guys who did a lot. I have not fully tested the 3.0 version, but yeah have taken some pictures so that those who don’t have time to test it can easily see what the work the WP guys have done in designing. If I will get time, then will surely post a detailed review on it. Have a look at the pics.

Just like Web hosting, domain names play an important role in managing Search Engine Optimization and bringing direct traffic to a blog too. If a blogger has a good domain that is small in characters, easy to remember and little catchy, then without doing more efforts one get a good ranking. The thing where every new bloggers does lack is the money. Money is not everything, but yeah it still matters a lot. Most of new bloggers doesn’t have money and they compromise by using free hosting and domain names like co.cc and co.nr, which are not good to use as they have full right to cancel your hosting any time or delete the data from your server moreover, the free domain names doesn’t bring a good traffic and are just free for a limited period of time. One can use free hosting and domain for limited period of time just for checking something like testing the new WordPress 3.0, but can’t use it forever.

Tip: Host WordPress blogs for free!

Last time on Passionate Bloggers I posted everything about hosting and also wrote about some cheap hosting service providers like HostGator and DotEasy. The main reason to write that post was to help new bloggers in choosing right hosting that is cheap and easy to use, but I didn’t write about domains. Even from a long time back I was planning to buy my own custom domain not like to get all my domains sponsored by an advertiser or Budding Bloggers. While searching for a good domain name I came to know that Netfirms are giving all domain just at a price of 1$. Honestly speaking I didn’t know about this domain service and came to know about it from a Facebook update of a blogger friend.

As I told you before too that I don’t buy anything without reviewing so I spent some hours on internet to check their service and read the reviews posted on other sites. I didn’t find anything bad about their services so finally decided to buy the domain. I got my domain (Screamable.com) in just five minutes and also got 25 MB free hosting space. I liked their service and so thought to share it others too.

This offer can help a lot new bloggers to NOT to compromise in getting a good domain name, now they can easily get a good domain name just at a cheap price of 1$ (as I don’t think 1$ would be tough to afford). Bloggers can use this domain for their BlogSpot blogs too, but I won’t recommend it as it lacks in many features and if we start comparing it with WordPress, then the comparison would never end. If they have money problem, then fine they can use it Blogger and later on upgrade the server according to the domain name you will also getting free 25MB server space, free Webmail Account, Google apps, and Whois privacy. They have around 1.2 million customers worldwide clients so there would be no problem with support.

So newbies please don’t wait as the offer is available only till May end, go now and sign up!

Sign Up to register the domain

Hosting plays an important role in a blog’s life, most of the new bloggers don’t understand this thing and choose their service provider and hosting type without knowing what their service provider offers and of which type of hosting suits them the best. To them all that matters is money, money and money. They want a cheap service provider, which gives them a lot of options. Why don’t they understand that most of the best things are not ‘Cheap’. Sometime backs I shared tips to choose right Web-hosting service providers and our editor posted a review about HostGator services (both posts helped a lot to our readers, we got a great response from them), but we didn’t give the proper answers to the questions that every blogger does ask (who care about their traffic and all, not those who just choose hosting blindly and cry later-on). Tonight I am going to give all information that a blogger should know before choosing a host.

There are three types of Web-hosting available, and all three depends on which type of site and how much traffic you have. Types of hosting are:

Shared: In this type of hosting the server is shared by a lot of people and any can use your server resource any time in any possible way without giving any credit. If you have small, static, or newly WordPress powered blogs that doesn’t have a lot of time, then it is OK to start your blogging journey with it.

Dedicated: A dedicated hosting service, dedicated server, or managed hosting service is a type of Internet hosting in which the client leases an entire server not shared with anyone (from WikiPidea). This type of web hosting is too costly and we wouldn’t suggest you that go for it until you have a lot of traffic because if you don’t, then it is full loss of money.

VPS: This type of hosting is best for you even if you are not a tech savvy. In this server a physical computer server is divided in multiple servers. If you are expecting a spike in traffic from social media sites, then this one the server which suits you the best.

Tips to choose

First thing before choosing the right service provider for you is you should know which server suits you the most, depending on the type of the site you have. I have written about all three types of hosting available in above stanzas (read them once more).

Once you know the type of Web-hosting that suits you the best, next step is to start reading the reviews about them (read not on their sites, but also on others). If possible try to monitor some of their servers for sometime.

Last point, but not the least is to check their response. Contact them (about the server) and see how much time do they take.

Service Providers

Well, honestly telling I have seen many servers, but only found two companies worth reviewing.

HostGator: Host Gator is one of the 10 largest Web-Hosts in the world, hosting about 2,200,000 domains (with shared cPanel). It gives 99.9% up time and best thing about it is that you can get your money back in 45 days if you don’t like their services.

DotEasy: It is popular for its domain registration service and affiliate marketing solutions. You can yourself test its performance by signuping for free web-hosting.

Sign Up for your hosting that suits you the best on HostGator or DotEasy.

So how are going to choose your service provider?
