What did I learn from Blogging?

Well, the title of the post should be what I didn’t learn from blogging. I have learned almost everything from blogging from English grammar to SEO, from designing to coding and a lot more. Today I’m going to tell what I learnt from this blogosphere. Here are the few thing which I learnt-

What I learned.

  • Blog less, comment more:  Yes! this is the main point, which I learned. Previously I used to blog continuously, I used to publish at least two articles a day, but I was wrong. There is no point of posting too many silly posts, which will be not even read by anyone. To increase a blog’s traffic just post three-four quality posts a week and deliberately comment on others blog. If your blog contains valuable content, but doesn’t have any reader, then I don’t think there is any use such content. To get back result of your hard work you need traffic and commenting on others blog is the best way to drive traffic. So, blog less (only quality post) and comment more.
  • Don’t blog for money: When I started my first blog on Google’s Blogspot I filled up my blog with Adbrite and Adsense advertisements, which was one of the worst things that I did in my blogging life. It slowed down my blog, but I was getting a good amount of money of Adsense as many guys started clicking on my ads, which later resulted that I lost my Adsense account. Google thought I was deliberately clicking on my ads myself.

Why shouldn’t you blog for money?

- You should not blog for money as told filling up a lot of advertisements on your blog will slow it down and will result in traffic loss and will make you to loose your readers forever as your readers will think that you are not a good blogger, you want money nothing else.

  • Post tutorials, not about your services!: Most of the bloggers think that posting about their services and all will attract their readers to give a try to their services, but they are absolutely wrong! Doing so will help them in getting a client. Well good tutorial like How to set up WordPress MU on local server. If a reader will enjoy reading that article, will try set up to setup it its own, but he fails, then he will surely take the help of the author.
I learned this thing when I started services page for bloggers, which was of no use.
  • Everything needs a hell lot of time: This thing I learned when I gave up by failure of my three blogs. I literally gave up, but one of my friends who is pro-blogger told me that it takes a lot of time to get success. So, I continued my blogging journey and shifted my blog from Blogger to Blog.co.in. After moving to Blog.co.in, I felt that there are some restrictions there, which I didn’t like so finally got a WordPress powered blog sponsored by Budding Bloggers that further helped me to learn a lot of new things.
  • Focus on Niche, SEO and branding: When I moved to WordPress I knew everything about SEO and branding, but the thing where I lacked was niche. I made my Tricks based blog an all-round blog which I shouldn’t do as it confused my readers that what I really want to do and cause of it I lost my all traffics. So, from now I am going to post articles based on my niche only.

This is what I learnt from blogging. Did you learn too something from your blogging journey? If yes, then please let me know. :)
